The Atascadero Greyhound Foundation has been serving the Atascadero community for more than 20 years, gradually adding more events that serve its mission. The Atascadero Greyhound Foundation is proud of its motto "Doing what's best for kids," and our efforts have made that motto a reality.
We have four big events throughout the year, and support the LIGHTHOUSE committee and the Committee for Atascadero Public Schools, which provide for the kids in the Atascadero Unified School District in different ways.
The Atascadero Greyhound Foundation was founded in 1994 as the Greyhound Athletic Foundation to fund facilities and programs for students at Atascadero High School. We succeeded in coordinating the construction of an all-weather track, snack bar, and restrooms at Atascadero High School as part of a $1.5 million renovation.
We have grown, and continue to give because of the generous donors, sponsors and participants of our events. The majority of our support comes from donors and sponsors. Our events are a benefit to the community in healthy activity — either athletically, musically, educationally, or in the fight against addiction.
